We have a couple of events coming up at the beginning of October that I want to make sure you know about and can hopefully attend!
The first weekend of October, on Saturday the 7th, is Providence Fest! It’s the annual parish picnic for OLP. It includes many of the traditional activities of a parish picnic that we all love and enjoy, including barbecue, live music, raffle, games for kids, and… something that not all parish picnics have… Fireworks! Be sure to check the bulletin to find out the details and the times for everything. Mass will also be part of the evening at its usual time of 4:30 PM. The planning committee and I want to invite all of the parishioners of Annunciation to join in the festivities and fun! Come and have a hamburger or hotdog, maybe meet a few parishioners of OLP, or come for 4:30 Mass and stick around for the fireworks! Hopefully the weather will cooperate and it will be wonderful event for both parishes to share and enjoy.
The following weekend, on Saturday, October 14th, Annunciation will host its annual trivia night with this year’s theme being music! You can register online as an individual, or you can put together a team of eight and register online as a team. If you make plans to attend, please be sure to register before that night…the sooner the better. https://www.goannunciation.com/trivia-night.html We would love to see parishioners from both OLP and Annunciation in attendance testing out your knowledge of music and songs. You can make plans to come for Mass at 5 PM and then head downstairs to the gym for the night of trivia, or just come for the trivia and give thanks to God the following day at one of the morning Masses for the fun night you are certainly going to have!
Peace and joy!
