YOUTH

BOY SCOUTS
Boy Scouts instill leadership, tempered with responsibility, independence and self-esteem in our youth. Outdoor activities are an important scouting activity. Hiking, overnight campouts, and an annual two-week summer camp are just a few of the exciting programs. The scouting merit badge program gives the scout the opportunity to learn new skills and to grow in the scouting experience, while preparing him with leadership skills. The scouting adventure begins in the 6th grade and continues into a young man’s future. For information contact Tony Druge | anthonyd74@sbcglobal.net.

CUB SCOUTS
Cub Scouts is a national organization for boys from the 2nd through 5th grade. Cub Scouts are divided into dens according to grade. In their den meetings boys fulfill requirements in order to advance in rank. Fifth grade cubs, known as Webelos, are prepared through their activities for their transition into Boy Scouts. Cub Scouting teaches duty to God and country, service to others, and the development of each boy’s potential. For information call Steve Deposki at 843-0041.

GIRL SCOUTS
Girl Scouts is a national program which helps girls grow in courage, confidence, and character, and who make the world a better place.  In Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Through a myriad of enriching experiences, such as field trips, sports skill-building clinics, community service projects, cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardships, girls grow courageous and strong. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; develop values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision-making; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others. The program is divided into age levels:  Daisies (grades K-1), Brownies (grades 2-3), Juniors (Grades 4-5), and Cadettes (Grades 6-8).  For information call Dianne Steger at 843-4208.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
This one-week summer program held in July and is a great way to have fun and learn about faith and values. This program is open to children from pre-school on up. The staff is made up of teenagers and adults who give up their time but have a wonderful experience with the children. If you would like to join the fun, call the parish office: 843:3570.

YOUTH ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION (YAA)
This is the adult organization which is responsible for coordinating the CYC youth sports program, with our Catholic values, within the parish. These sports include soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball and baseball. The YAA oversees all the requirements of these athletic activities, including registration and training of Coaches and Referees, preparation and maintenance of the athletic field, gym, and concession stands. The YAA also supports extra-curricular youth activities such as the Bellarmine Speech program and the Boy/Girl Scouting programs.
